IUPUI recently had its National Student Employment Week where awards were given to Student Employee of the Year and Student Employee Supervisor of the Year. At the awards ceremony, the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI's very own Dr. Babak Anasori won the Supervisor of the Year Award.
The Supervisor of the Year award is based on a variety of characteristics: professionalism, leadership, and mentoring provided to the student employee. Dr. Anasori was nominated by two student employees he supervises in his lab. One student noted how, “His openness welcoming attitude toward people, and new approaches distinguish him from his academic peers.” Another student applauded Dr. and said, “He always takes initiative in this regard by leading by example. He has many great qualities that set him apart from other supervisors, the one that I see as most notable is his genuine care for the well-being and goals of those around him.”
This was “the highlight of his career,” said Dr. Anasori. The nomination letters revealed Dr. Anasori's significance to his student employees. It was evident why he won the 2023 Supervisor of the Year award.
Congratulations Dr. Anasori!
