IUPUI is a distinctive combination of the best of Indiana’s two major universities: Purdue University and Indiana University. The School of Engineering and Technology offers students degrees from both universities, allowing our academic departments to offer programs in the respective disciplines for which Purdue and IU are known around the globe.

IUPUI has given me many opportunities to broaden my understanding of engineering through coursework, research, and mentors.

Meet Stephanie Luangraj, Class of 2018

  • Degree: Computer & Information Technology
  • Concentration: Information Security
  • Certificate: Software Development

This specialization challenged me and still held my interest. I am beyond thankful for changing my major into something so relevant in today’s generation and our future. I feel like I’m a cyber ninja!

During IUPUI, I was a mentor for a program called STEPS. Although I was mentoring, I feel that the program mentored me. I grew into a highly motivated student because of that program. I enjoyed being there for other students and I was glad I made an impact in their lives. I also had an amazing Advisor, Kelly Keelen who never gave up on me and always lead me to the right path. I thank her for everything during my education at IUPUI. If it wasn’t for her I really wouldn’t have switched to CIT.

After graduation, the plan was to stay in Indy since my family is here, but also Indy is known to be Silicon Prairie. Although I’d love to move to a bigger city, Indy is where my heart belongs. It’s growing and especially in tech it’s definitely the place to have a career.
