Overview

This Study Abroad opportunity is part of the CIT 41600 Global IT Citizenship course offered every other spring semester (2018, 2020, 2022, etc.)  Students who enroll in the course will spend a week in Shenzhen and Beijing, China during their Spring Break.

This program will provide students with a wide scope of Global IT Citizenship, exploring issues related to multicultural integration within global companies and concerns about citizens working and studying abroad. It includes an in-depth cultural exchange where students will collaborate with students from China throughout the course.

Our study abroad program will consist of the following key elements:

  • Visits to multinational and Chinese companies to learn about employment opportunities for foreign citizens
  • Collaboration with Shenzhen University, where students will be able to interact with Chinese students and collaborate on an IT project across the globe
  • Visits to a variety of cultural and historical sites to help the students understand the history and culture of China, both past and present

When is the Trip?

Travelers will depart on the Friday before Spring Break and will return 10 days later on the Sunday just prior to the start of classes.  For 2020, the dates are Friday, March 13th - Sunday, March 22nd.
