Students in the INTR program are required to purchase a laptop computer for use in their courses. Below are the minimum and recommended specifications for laptops capable of running the necessary software.
1) Apple computers are NOT endorsed as the bulk of software that is used in the Interior Design Technology program is Microsoft Windows based. If you bring an Apple computer to class, our faculty as well as technology staff will not be responsible for assisting you with the intensive setup that may be required.
2) A mouse with a center scroll as well as a working keyboard are required. Tablets alone are not acceptable, but may be used to supplement your laptop work.
3) It is advisable to purchase a laptop with longer battery life or even an extra battery. A typical class that uses laptops will last for 2-4 hours, and you may have several classes in a row requiring 6-8 hours of battery life.
