A film created by a team that includes faculty from IUPUI’s School of Engineering and Technology will be featured at the Montreal Underground Film Festival on opening night, May 19, at the Microcinnema Etre.
Death of the Mechanical Man is a silent sci-fi film with an original score that plays throughout. The work chronicles the journey of an astronaut traveler searching for answers to the mystery of his past and own mortality.
The creative team includes: Michael Drews, Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Music and Arts Technology; Jordan Munson, Senior Lecturer of Music and Arts Technology and Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment; and Brian McCutcheon, Founder and Chief Design Officer of Ignition Arts in Indianapolis.
The work was generously sponsored by the IUPUI Arts and Humanities Institute and the Indiana Arts Commission.
