IUPUI Students receive award at the 43th IEEE PVSC Conference

The School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis was awarded the Best Student Presentation Award at the the 43th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) in Portland Oregon on June 5^th for the paper titled Design of a Highly Efficient Microinverter.

Authors for the paper include:
• Omar Nezamuddin, Electrical and Computering Engineering PhD student
• Jonah Crespo, Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student
• Dr. Euzeli dos Santos, Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty

Nezamuddin is the first author of the paper, and Crespo attended the conference in Portland to present. The paper, Design of a Highly Efficient Microinverter, proposed a device (microinverter) that connects a photovoltaic solar panel to the utility grid in a high efficient manner. The proposed microinverter presents a high quality AC voltage generated at its output while keeps the same number of semiconductor devices of a conventional circuitry.
