"Brian’s leadership experience, collaborative style, and depth of knowledge about the Department as well as the School will be invaluable in his role as chair,” said Russomanno. "We look forward to the positive impact he will make within the Department and the School in the near future."
King joined the School’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2001. He has primarily taught undergraduate and graduate courses in computer engineering, and has served as the Department’s chair of graduate programs since 2009. His research interests include: information security, computer and network security, wireless security, cryptography, algorithms and applied mathematics.
“I look forward to working with our faculty and School with the goal of continuing to improve our academic and research programs within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,” King said.
King earned a Ph.D. in mathematics as well as a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He previously worked at Motorola Research Labs where he was responsible for various security-related projects.
