By the end of this course, you will be able to
- · Describe what types of projects are fundable by grants
- · Describe basic elements of grant proposals
- · Explain the process of submitting grant proposals to different entities according to their guidelines
- · Use a variety of grant proposal formatting conventions to draft and submit proposals appropriately for the specific funding agency
- · Practice writing clear needs statements, goals, objectives, research methods, timelines, budgets, and narratives
- · Design a fundable project including SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) objectives and modifying the objectives as needed
- · Demonstrate professional, technical, persuasive, and clear writing skills
- · Demonstrate analytical reasoning skills in relationship to developing a successful project proposal
- · Use appropriate editing and proofreading skills
- · Search for and locate available grant opportunities for a specific project
- · Use skills in drafting, editing, and submitting at least one grant application for a specific project
