[Music]
00:04
want to join a music program designed
00:06
for the 21st century
00:07
IUPUI is music technology students
00:10
engaging the technical theoretical and
00:12
creative studies needed for a successful
00:14
career in a growing profession I wanted
00:17
to come into the program and just become
00:18
a better musician overall and it
00:21
completely did that it's been it's been
00:23
a very good journey for me if I study
00:25
music I can wake up every single morning
00:27
and be happy and excited to do my job
00:30
we offer Bachelor master and doctoral
00:33
degrees at one of the leading research
00:34
institutions in the Midwest study audio
00:37
recording hardware and software design
00:39
production and sound synthesis all
00:42
enhanced by small class sizes and the
00:44
talent of our internationally recognized
00:46
faculty we're looking for students that
00:48
are serious about studying music from
00:50
the angle of what is happening now in
00:53
performance in recording in design in
00:56
engineering we work in programming in
00:58
max/msp environment grad students
01:01
especially come in with computer
01:02
programming background and so they're
01:04
even in more sophisticated software such
01:06
as a C++ what's particularly innovative
01:09
about our program is we're not just
01:11
looking for how well you play an
01:13
instrument in a traditional melodic
01:15
sense but that in combination with your
01:18
previous skill set and desire for and
01:21
potential for learning the technologies
01:23
of contemporary means I'll have all
01:26
these extra skills I've learned so that
01:28
I can make money while I'm doing what I
01:31
love and do it better than I would have
01:33
if I hadn't entered the program I love
01:36
our students first of all I think
01:38
they're very supportive of each other
01:39
and they get here and they're like wow
01:42
we're finally around people that have
01:43
the same interest inherent to the degree
01:47
into the classroom work and the lab work
01:51
is collaboration between students and
01:53
also between faculty and students as
01:55
well and I think the goal coming out of
01:57
it is to build sort of a student that's
01:59
a Swiss Army knife a music technology I
02:01
mean they can go off to do lots of
02:03
different things in that broad field it
02:06
can change your life you can go in a
02:07
live performance you can go in the live
02:09
sound you know we've got lighting and
02:10
video classes
02:12
I'm starting to see how far this program
02:14
can take me Avenue such as music
02:16
research studies and video game design
02:20
enjoy the expansive resources of our
02:23
IUPUI community and experience the
02:25
culture of urban Indy there's a place
02:28
for you here there's so many different
02:30
kinds of skills that you can learn for
02:32
whichever direction you're going to in
02:34
music if you feel like called to do
02:37
music and you feel feel called to do
02:39
something creative just know that if you
02:41
apply to this program you come here
02:43
you're gonna find people that are in the
02:45
exact same shoes as you and you're gonna
02:46
find your people here if you want to
02:48
pursue music you should definitely get
02:49
that education of music technology
02:51
because it's it'll help with the future
02:55
