BS/MS in ECE

Purdue University Five year combined BS/MS program in ECE at Indiana University- Purdue University, Indianapolis

Students accepted into this dual-degree program can use 12 credits of graduate 500-level courses on both their Bachelors plan of study and their Masters plan of study. These courses must satisfy both degree requirements and appropriate advising is needed. This would effectively reduce the graduate credits requirement for the Masters degree to 18 credits. Details about the requirements for the Masters degree can be found here.

Benefits of the Program

  • Receive both Bachelor’s Degree (BSCmpE or BSEE) and Master’s Degree (MSECE) in five years.
  • Take four graduate courses (one 500-level Math and three 500-level ECE) while in Bachelor’s Degree program. These four courses will also be counted as four courses in the Master’s Degree program. The cost associated to course work completed while an undergraduate student is assessed at the undergraduate rate
  • Take four fewer courses (12 credit hours) than ordinarily required for students pursuing each degree separately. Students see significant cost and time savings.
  • If ECE department is notified before you complete graduate application (see below), we will waive application fee for BS/MS students
