Measurement and Evaluation in Industry and Technology

This course is an introduction to measurement strategies and evaluation of data in industry and technology within the context of research design and implementation. Students will learn not only basic statistics in this course but will also learn about the research process by designing, conducting, and analyzing the data for a small empirical research project using real world data. The material in this course is directly relevant to student professional development. Data collection and interpretation are key day-to-day aspects of social and behavioral science, humanities, communication, economics, physical sciences, biological and medical science, technology, education, psychology, business, environmental science, education and government. In addition, the ability to use computers and other technologies around data has become a critical element in most professional decision-making processes.
